The new accepting condition of higher studies :

The research and development department depending anew condition to accept the students of higher education ( master and doctorate ) to this year 2008 – 2009 which was the result of hard efforts supervised by Dr. Muhammad Abd atiya  al-saraje the administrator of research and development directorate in the minister of higher education and scientific research with the share of higher studies department's staff  and at the head of them Mr. .fadhil sarhan kadhim the head master of the department with his good companion .

This condition differentiations by using the electronic system for modern acceptance supplemented by a competent committee in every college , after it emptying the personal information for each student .( the scientific identity ) in application form which consider the main source that feeding the system without submitted to the personal moods or pressures .

So that we can say this administer could offered a great service , transport through it the old hand work style to the developed and modern one that inter in it the modern computer techniques which reduce time , effort and coast .

To concern our university the number of accepting student to this year for the master's degree was ( 37 ) student distribution on the colleges as the following : -

The college of the basic education             19

The college of education                            13

The college of sport education                     5

The number of the graduated students of higher studies from diyala university reached (67) students from the period  1 – 9 – 2006 till   31 – 8 – 2007  distribution on the colleges as the following : -

The college of the basic education               8

The college of education                              35

The college of sport education                      24

Worth mention that this colleges graduated it's higher studies students because it have qualified scientific cadre to graduate and supervision on these students , means it has enough number from the lecturers and lecturers assistant whom have the ability to graduate the students of higher education .

 Diyala university looking for expanded the master's study in the future in order to including a new specialization like English language , biology , veterinarian and agricultural sciences .

And in the next year it's intended to inter a new period at the higher studies field , we means a doctorate stage and all that's by the efforts of the  committees of the colleges  and the committee of the university with a continuation from the research and development department in the university which make every efforts in spit of fewness of it's staff in sack of fulfill the needs that the nature of the work required in this directorate and finally get the agreement to originate the tow sections of higher studies and scientific affairs .

The higher studies unite specialize by following and fulfillment the politic of the university in this field and that's through the arrangement with the colleges which have higher studies students and following all the issues directions from the ministry and the university which concerning with it . if we know that it is the first time apply the electronic accepting system to this year as we mention .

On the other hand the scientific affair's section concern with all what it related to scientific conferences , lecturer researches and any other activities like scientific research specializations , students researches , scientific resources and another directions which issues from the ministry and the university .

So we can say that our university looking for open the doctorate study during the next period in psychological and educational sciences ,sport education ,history and geography .it will start in the next year in addition of expending the field of master's study .
