The university, which stems from the historical depth must be distinct and works for a scientific and cultural creativity that is - Diyala University - which its name gave to it a great responsibility where had to be understand its historical extended to maintain it historical heritage with all what is creative , modern and on the other hand Has to cope with all the developments in the world and changed it into a small village.

Department of history :

    

This department which was founded at 2004/2005 gives it's graduate students the Bsc certificate in history education which enables them to teach history material in primary and secondary schools ,and also gives them the chance to be accepted in higher studies to take the master degree in methods of teaching of history.
